Detention pond construction and maintenance, subsurface stormwater controls and pond water-quality management across Central Texas.

Kyle is where our trucks start the day, and we have watched the detention ponds here multiply right along with the subdivisions. Most are young, built as the neighborhood was built, then handed to an HOA board that got a plat and not much else. Plum Creek takes a lot of this runoff. The soil mixes clay and caliche, so slopes can slump in one place and wash out in another.
New ponds need the construction phase cleaned up: silt out of the forebay, trash out of the bottom, bare spots sodded or seeded with matting, inlets and outlet cleared so the drawdown works. After that it is a mowing cycle through the growing season, trash pickup and structure checks a few times a year. Where a slope has started to gully, we rebuild it before it gets near the embankment.
Being based in Kyle means we can get to your pond quickly, including after a storm when something is blocked and water is standing where it should not be. We work with HOA boards, management companies and builders still inside their warranty period. Call (737) 404-9343 and we will meet you at the pond for a free assessment.
We walk your Kyle property and assess the site.

Yes. Corral Bros is a pond and stormwater contractor serving Central Texas, we build detention and retention ponds, maintain them, install and service subsurface stormwater control measures (SCMs), and manage pond water quality. Most of this work is for commercial properties, HOAs, developments and municipalities along the Austin–San Antonio corridor.
Detention pond maintenance keeps a basin working and inspection-ready: sediment and silt removal, mowing and vegetation control, clearing inlets, outlets and outfall structures, repairing erosion, and regrading as needed. We can also provide inspection documentation to support regulatory compliance.
Yes, that is a large share of our commercial pond work and we are based right here in town. Boards and management companies typically put mowing, trash removal and inspections on a recurring schedule, with sediment removal priced separately when it is due. You get a written record of every visit.
Being local helps a lot. For clients on a maintenance schedule we prioritize post-storm checks, since a blocked outlet or plugged inlet is the thing most likely to flood something while you wait. Call us and tell us what you are seeing.
Get the approved drainage plan and have the basin inspected against it: bottom elevation, outlet condition, slope stability and vegetation coverage. Construction silt, buried structures and bare slopes are the usual findings on a handoff. It is much easier to get those addressed before the association takes it on.
Usually because water is sitting instead of draining, and organic material is breaking down in it. Clearing the outlet so the basin draws down, removing the muck layer and cutting back heavy vegetation generally takes care of it. If the pond was designed as a wet pond, that is a different situation and we would tell you.
That is partly equipment and mostly timing. We mow when the ground will carry the machine, use the right size equipment for the slope, and vary the pattern so we are not cutting the same track every visit. Where a slope is too steep or too wet for a machine, it gets handled with smaller crews.
